Week 2.

Creating volume and lift inspired by 50s, 60s and 70s

If your model has clean or freshly washed hair add a little dry shampoo to the roots to make the hair a little tackier and easier to work with.

Only ever use hairspray as a finishing product its too heavy to use this early in the process. Section the hair starting at the top of the head. The section should be square shaped, start in the middle of the head at the top. Lift the hair up and place the curler at the bottom, roll down to the root of head. Use the end of the pin tail comb to help guide the curl.

Leave the curler on the hair for a couple of seconds then remove the tong. Never pull it off the head as this will destroy the curl. Gently push the curl off the tong using the end of your pin tail comb. Grip it to the head in its original rolled shape and leave to set. Once the hair has cooled down and set remove the grips lift the curl up and gently back comb at the root to create a lift.

I also added a few curls to the longer lengths of hair to help it tie in with the rest.

Always use your kit tools to play with the hair not your hand. Your hands have moisture and heat on them which will make the hair harder to work with. your model has clean or freshly washed hair add a little dry shampoo to the roots to make the hair a little tackier and easier to work with.
