Creating Volume
In order to create volume, it's important to establish what look you're going for. There are many different ways of achieving a bouncy look.
Blow Drying;
Add mousse to the root of your models hair. You can also spray a little water spray aswell as the hair is easier to style when wet.
Section the hair considering that we are working from the bottom of the head to the top to ensure all the hair is included and if we were to work in the opposite direction the top styled pieces would be destroyed as we tried to reach the bottom pieces of hair.
Ensure there is a nosel on the end of the hair dryer being used as this help direct the heat to certain parts of the head.
Take the section of hair at the bottom of the head. Take the round brush and hold it underneath the hair at the root pulling the hair straight upwards.
Now direct the hair dryer to the root of the hair underneath and at the top of the hair to help lift from both directions and to avoid burning your models scalp.
Always make sure the hair is pulled as high as possible when blow drying from underneath. This helps the heat lift the hair as much as possible. The same applies when blow drying the top of the sectioned piece. Pull the hair out from the head as much as possible using the round brush this helps direct the hair and create a strong lift.
After blow drying the root curl the ends of the hair using tongs.
